X-bio Matching Server is a distributed computing engine optimised for fingerprint matching applications. Many Matching Servers can be linked via LAN to form a cluster, providing parallel computing for large databases or critical-response-time applications. Each matching server is designed to match fingerprints on a 1-to-1 verification and 1-to-N identification basis for up to a million users.

X-bio matching algorithm offers both Verification and Identification using the same algorithm. A special feature of the matching algorithm is the proprietary OmniCheck algorithm used.

This matching algorithm is capable of matching partial fingerprint with various orientations at the time of image capture. The only requirement is that both images must have sufficient common area to establish the similarity of the two fingerprints. This rotation and translation invariant feature enhances the user-friendliness of the system.
